Three years ago, the Northmont Campus started a Backpack Ministry that helped feed children by sending backpacks full of food home with them on the weekends to make sure they have food to eat. The number has grown beyond the point where one church can supply the need, there are now 10 local churches involved in this ministry. Join us in helping pack backpacks with food. You must be 16 or older to serve in this ministry.

Crayons to Classrooms is a free store for teachers from under-funded K-12 schools that serve children in need in our community. You can volunteer as a check-out, office or warehouse assistant, or help with other projects for classrooms.

This bicycling and kayaking club engages the community with family-friendly, outdoor activities. Lead group activities (bicycling rides and kayaking and fishing floats), mentor students, help with construction projects or with bicycle/kayak maintenance, cleaning and repair.

KIND is a faith-based youth program that provides Dayton area children, ages 4-17, with activities, field trips, tutoring, nutritious meals, guidance, mentoring and friendship. The KIND program strives to make sure that each and every child knows that they are cared about and provides them with a positive Christian influence in their lives. Volunteer as a mentor or tutor, or assist with their summer programs.

Rebuilding Together Dayton provides home repairs at no cost for low-income, elderly homeowners living in Montgomery County, with a preference to those in their homes for a minimum of 10 years. They also provide urgently needed safety updates, such as wheelchair ramps, grab bars, and hand-rails, by skilled tradespeople.

Because of God’s Grace (BOGG) Ministries is a non-profit organization that helps provide people with food, clothing, and other essentials to sustain a healthy lifestyle. This ministry has trailers that haul food supplies to local parks and neighborhoods. Volunteers come on specific days to serve groceries, food items and share the love of Christ.

Dayton VA Grotto and Gardens

If you enjoy gardens and working in them, why not serve with The American Veterans Heritage Center and the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center to help maintain the many gardens within the historical Grotto and Gardens located at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Work with the OSU Master Gardeners as you plant, clean up and complete other work around the grounds. The season runs from early April to late October.
